Pet Wants Delivering Solutions to You and Your Pets
Pet Wants delivers more than just natural and fresh pet food and quality pet products. We also are passionate about helping to deliver solutions to pet parents on proper nutrition and solving nutritional issues for their pets. While we are not veterinarians, we are pet nutrition specialists and can provide tailored advice and natural solutions for your pet’s specific life-stage issues, weight challenges, food allergies and intolerances, itching, licking, scratching, hair loss, and other nagging issues. We know how frustrating, stressful and expensive such issues can be.
That is why we work hard every day to help give pets real relief from these issues and to give pet parents real peace of mind. After all, delivering practical solutions is central to our mission of helping to improve the life, health, and vitality of pets across the U.S., including yours!
To be true problem solvers, we always have a pet nutrition specialist on staff to listen carefully to you about your pet’s issues so we can identify potential causes as well as practical solutions to effectively address your pet’s unique situation. For example, we will help educate you on the fact that many issues and challenges pets experience are related to environmental allergies, food allergies, and food intolerances/sensitivities.
This blog will give you a quick overview of these 3 factors, but please contact us for a personal consultation. Let’s start with environmental allergies, the most common. Symptoms of environmental allergies could be itchy skin that causes them to lick, bite, or chew their paws and scratch their ears and rear. Environmental allergies can be caused by environmental factors such as pollen, grass, and mold. Regular baths, ear cleanings and increasing the amount of omega-3s in your pet’s diet can help with seasonal allergy issues.
Food allergies can also have common symptoms like itchy skin and chewing of paws and can be difficult to diagnosis. Food allergies are typically caused when the pet’s immune system mistakes food for something bad that can do their body harm. As a response, the immune system activates and produces signals that can cause inflammation which can lead to symptoms like chewing of paws and feet in pets. Food allergies, however, only make up about 10% of the pet population.
Food intolerance or sensitivity is not a true allergy but can still cause issues like gas, irritation, and discomfort. An intolerance could be the result of a specific ingredient in your current pet food or how the food is produced. Common ingredients that trigger such intolerances and sensitivities are corn, wheat, and artificial preservatives or colors. Those ingredients are most commonly found in mass-produced pet food. At Pet Wants, our food is made fresh every month and slow cooked in small batches and we never use corn, wheat, soy, animal by-products, or artificial preservatives. We only use the best ingredients and deliver it fresh, within weeks. In all we do, we offer high-quality food, treats, and supplements to ensure every customer gets the products and care they need to help their pet live the happiest and healthiest life possible.
We want to earn your trust and be your nutrition specialists and problem solvers. Please call us with your pet’s issues or better yet, let’s arrange for a face-to-face consultation so we can deliver real solutions and relief.
We are not veterinarians or pet medical professionals. We have many years of experience and are well educated in natural nutrition and pet health. We are here to provide you with information and recommendations but the advice from our nutrition specialists or guides are no substitute for proper veterinary care. We offer carefully selected natural products, but firmly believe you should work closely with your vet for any medical conditions or treatments.
